SWIR Engineer
Location: Roanoke, Virginia, USA
Position provides in-depth technical analysis and project guidance on new
product development sensors. Manages and leads a staff of engineers
and/or technicians who design and implement new product development.
Responsibilities include: analyzes new imaging technologies to meet new
night vision product requirements; ability to define new imaging
technology and performance requirements; layout program schedules and
define resources required for program needs; delegates and leads team of
engineers/technicians to achieve program strategies; interfaces with
systems engineers to create, develop and coordinate joint projects;
communicates technical progress and data to customers. Requirements: BS
in physics/engineering and experience equivalent to a master’s degree or
higher; experience with imaging/detection devices operating in SWIR band;
knowledge of electromagnetic interaction with semiconductor materials;
knowledge/experience with semiconductor device physics
(detectors/imagers); knowledge of electro-optics and optical systems,
emphasis on SWIR a plus; knowledge of systems engineering principles;
ability to develop schedules, resource requirements and specifications;
understanding of electronics, mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry;
team player with persuasion to support projects.
US citizenship required
May be required to obtain government security clearance
